Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Die & Tooling Design Engineer Manager to oversee the design, development, and execution of die and tooling systems for our manufacturing operations. The Die & Tooling Design Engineer Manager will lead a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring that all tooling designs meet production requirements and optimize performance. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and strategic thinking to drive continuous improvement in tooling efficiency and innovation. The Die & Tooling Design Engineer Manager will collaborate closely with production teams, providing regular updates through meetings and detailed reports, including charts, tables, and presentations for monthly or quarterly corporate operational reviews.
Job Duties:
- Lead the design and development of forged products, ensuring innovation and quality.
- Oversee the creation of forging dies and trim tooling for both new and existing products.
- Manage the design of machining jigs and fixtures to optimize the production of forged parts.
- Develop and implement forging die designs to improve product quality and reduce costs.
- Design and supervise mechanical solutions for material handling in robotic applications.
- Provide technical leadership and support for forging and machining operations on the shop floor.
- Oversee mechanical design work for post-forging tooling to ensure efficiency and precision.
- Offer technical expertise and management support for die shop and forging press maintenance.
- Supervise and mentor the engineering team, ensuring their work aligns with company objectives.
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology
- 5+ years' experience in manufacturing
- 3+ years in supervisory experience
- 5+ years in die making and heat treatment processes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D mechanical designs
- Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerances
