Kelly Engineering is currently seeking an experienced Scheduler for a 6 month assignment in the Seadrift, Texas area! Under the guidance of the Turnaround Manager (TAM), and as a member of the Core Turnaround Team, the Scheduler implements the Global Turnaround Methodology (GTM) to implement a strategy that renews the assets and maximizes long term value creation, and then executes that strategy delivering best in class performance in all phases of the turnaround (planning and front-end loading (FEL), pre-work, shutdown, and post-work). The Scheduler has the primary responsibilities for developing, optimizing and progressing integrated turnaround schedules for all turnarounds that this person is associated with.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop, optimize and manage turnaround schedules using Primavera
Receive turnaround work orders and check for administrative completeness
Work with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering (including non-Dow resources) to implement an integrated schedule
Apply critical path analysis to compress turnaround schedules and minimize production impact
Apply resource leveling to optimize manpower needs for the turnarounds
Technical/Content Steward for the Site Turnaround Web Page including schedule and resource updates for the turnarounds
Define and optimize resource requirements for turnarounds
Provide updates to the GTM team, clients and other stakeholders, before, during and after turnarounds using various reporting tools
Validates all Construction Contractors resource loaded schedules, and retains for variance analyses.
Performs staffing density checks or staffing limitation checks to validate schedule durations.
Ability to multi-task which will include working several projects/activities/demands concurrently.
Must be able to interface/work with Engineering, General Mechanical and I&E contractors.
Must be able to validate and report earned value physical progression based on the Rules of Credits.
Works with cost management to gain alignment when forecasting schedule completion dates.
Weekly reporting and interface with Project Design Teams, contractors and project management.
Identifies critical resource and schedule issues and recommends corrective action.
Performs ongoing schedule analyses, critical path analyses to determine problem areas, earned value analyses, risk analyses& reporting, evaluate/recommend schedule improvement opportunities.
Understands other scheduling software i.e., Microsoft Project, Fast-Track, etc., used by outside contractors.
Understands and the knowledge of using change order process (PDN/FCO) in documenting and reporting changes.
Ability to recognize Quality Control of Engineering/Construction packages in order to identify activities.
To qualify for this position, you must possess the following:
Minimum High School diploma or GED is required.
Proficiency within Primavera (P6)
Prior Dow experience preferred!
Requires thorough knowledge of scheduling best practices, principles and techniques acquired during a minimum of 5 years progressive experience in the Planning/Scheduling discipline.
Strong computer skills
Computer problem solving skills, ability to identify and resolve problems with appropriate resources
Must have excellent organizational skills and have a strong attention to detail.
Requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and must be proficient in Excel.
The Turnaround Scheduler must have strong leadership skills as well as the ability to communicate across all levels.
Overtime will be required during turnarounds to manage progress and report schedules
The following are preferred but not required:
Knowledge of SAP management systems
Engineering scheduling experience is a strong plus.
Prior scheduling experience in a maintenance facility is a strong plus
