A public organization in New Jersey is currently seeking a Chief Risk Management and Claims. This role involves overseeing risk management strategies and claims processes to protect organizational assets and minimize financial losses.
About the Opportunity:
Schedule: M-F regular business hours
Setting: Hybrid - 3 days on site, 2 days remote
Responsibilities:
The Chief, Risk Management and Claims will be responsible for:
Investigating loss exposures related to employee injuries and third-party claims, particularly under FELA and Workers' Compensation
Managing the corporate insurance program, including negotiating coverage and costs with insurance providers
Directing loss control and claims processes, with authority for settlement decisions up to Board approval limits
Leading the Monthly Bus and Rail Claim Review Committee for FELA and third-party claims
Presenting key claims and insurance items to the Board of Directors
Qualifications:
15+ years of experience in risk management and corporate insurance management
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
In-depth knowledge of various insurance coverages
Understanding of New Jersey risk management procedures and relevant statutes
Ability to interpret contracts and evaluate insurance policies
Desired Skills:
Certifications in risk management or insurance
Strong negotiation skills with insurance providers
