Job Summary:
We are seeking a forward-thinking Commercial Collections Manager to oversee our commercial collections operations with the potential to grow into a leadership role. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in commercial collections, UCC filings, negotiations and financial analysis, along with a passion for building and scaling a high-performing collections team.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for collections activities, ensuring scalability as the business grows.
Lead and mentor a team of collections specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and success.
Engage with clients to address outstanding balances, resolve disputes, and negotiate payment arrangements, maintaining strong client relationships.
Oversee the preparation and management of case files, ensuring accuracy and legal compliance.
Utilize data analytics to track payment behaviors, identify high-risk accounts, and develop tailored collection strategies.
Manage the timely and accurate receipt of payments, working closely with processors and tracking payment statuses.
Ensure all collections activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, including data privacy and debt collection laws.
Drive the expansion of the collections department into a full-service agency, capable of handling external bad debt and distressed assets.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial collections, with a focus on scaling collections operations.
Strong knowledge of UCC filings, secured transaction laws, and experience with the New York court system.
Proficiency in financial analysis, ROI calculations, and forecasting.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership, analytical, and project management abilities.
