Leading international firm is seeking a Client Value (CV) Analyst to join their team as a key business partner to the engagement teams. In this role, the CV Analyst will provide expert pricing and budgeting support, manage client-related inventory, and ensure the timely billing and collection of fees. Additionally, the CV Analyst will deliver critical insights into client and matter profitability, while ensuring full compliance with internal firm policies. This role directly supports the firm's global commercial finance vision, as led by the Global Head of Commercial Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
Pricing & Budgeting
Develop tailored pricing solutions, propose alternative fee structures, and evaluate staffing models to deliver optimal client value.
Assist in the creation of accurate budgets and forecasts, regularly tracking actual costs and time investments to ensure alignment with recovery targets.
Inventory Management
Provide regular updates to management on key financial metrics, including time recording, Work in Progress (WIP) conversion, billing, and cash collection, ensuring corrective actions are taken as necessary.
Oversee the WIP and A/R processes, working with clients, partners, and fee earners to resolve invoicing and accrual issues.
Manage complex billing requirements, including multi-jurisdiction and multi-practice group invoicing, and adapt to evolving client-specific billing structures.
Collaborate with partners to coordinate billing and credit control processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
Monitor the performance of the Global Shared Services team against service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Business Insight & Advisory
Work closely with stakeholders to provide strategic financial insights, ensuring that financial performance aligns with firm targets and benchmarks.
Proactively suggest improvements based on financial analysis and post-project reviews.
Partner with Finance teams to assess broader strategic issues and support the firm's financial risk management initiatives.
Maintain an external focus by staying updated on industry trends through networking and research.
Business Planning & Projects
Support Practice Group leadership in setting and tracking performance targets, including budgeting and forecasting, while offering constructive challenges to assumptions where necessary.
Assist in resource management analysis, focusing on optimizing team composition and equity distribution across practice groups.
Collaborate with Finance and Business Services teams to ensure SLAs are met and service delivery is effective.
Contribute to Finance-related projects, driving continuous improvements in process efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Requirements:
Essential:
Significant experience as a business partner within Big Law, providing data-driven insights and financial analysis.
Strong understanding of the legal sector, including its products and services.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
Desirable:
Experience working within a matrix organizational structure or Global Shared Services environment.
Previous experience within a leading international law firm is highly preferred.
