The Development Engineer provides economical solutions to create & improve processes for the manufacture of wire & cable. This position interacts with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Cable Assembly Engineering, Manufacturing, Test Laboratories, raw material suppliers and equipment manufacturers. This position is responsible for the development & industrialization activities required of a high precision, high bandwidth product base. .
Short Description
Process Development/Implementation/Documentation - Tape, Cable, Braid
Assist other areas of cable manufacturing as required.
Support Product Development/Design Engineering activities.
Interact with test lab on process/product qualification activities - DOE, PFMEA, 8D, FA
Interact with industry OEM equipment, material, and tooling develop and improve performance/ quality/supply.
Support SAFE Activities
Support ISO Activities
Provide Technical support for maintenance activities.
What your background should look like:
Manufacturing, Mechanical or Plastics Engineering Degree preferred.
This is a mid-level to advanced position depending on candidate
Minimum 5 years of wire & cable process engineering experience..
Working Knowledge in SPC/Six Sigma/Lean
CAD Experience Required
Knowledge of industrial drives & controls including ladder logic a plus.
Knowledge of materials, processes, and systems used in the manufacture of wire & cable a must.
30% International Travel Required.
Wage
Compensation:
$90-130K
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
