Summary of the position:
The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for continuously monitoring the Michigan City, Indiana Cycle Count program, leading the Cycle Count team, reporting accurate inventory levels and variances, and leading process improvements to improve inventory control, mitigate inventory loss and improve overall inventory accuracy.
This position is located at the Hitachi Global Air Power manufacturing plant in Michigan City, Indiana, and reports to the Director of Materials Management.
Duties and responsibilities:
Develop and Administer cycle count program for MCI Facilities, considering ABC Analysis, Count Schedule, NPD and Legacy products, collaborating with Materials Management, Finance and Internal Control Departments
Supervise a team of cycle counters, providing leadership and guidance, including learning, development and accountability
Develop KPIs and sub-KPIs for measuring continuous improvement, with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective & preventive action(s)
Post cycle count variance adjustments, ensuring all investigative actions are complete and obtaining necessary approvals
Prepare variance reports as required, utilizing inventory tools and systems for tracking, analysis and auditing
Collaborate with appropriate departments and stakeholders for corrective and preventive actions to optimize inventory accuracy, following up on completion and sustainability
Collaborate with the SAP Team for complete understanding of process impact to inventory accuracy, including but not limited to COGI errors, Consumption Delivery errors and Quality-related processes, while promoting improvements to processes and material flow
Lead the preparation and execution of annual physical inventory, collaborating with Finance
Lead and assist in training, as required
Sponsor, Lead or Facilitate kaizen events to attack complex opportunities, where cross-functional support is required
Continually monitor workloads at all Hitachi Global Air Power - MCI buildings to ensure adequate coverage, providing weekly schedules for direct reports, while monitoring overtime hours to stay within departmental budget and to provide adequate coverage to support Operations & Planning.
Hold direct reports accountable to uphold Hitachi Global Air Power values and policies; issuing discipline as required in conjunction with the Human Resource department.

Qualifications:
Education:
High School education or equivalent and 10+ years of relevant experience
Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business / Finance, Operations / Supervision preferred
Six Sigma Green Belt a plus
Professional experience:
Three or more years of experience in Inventory Management, Cycle Counting and/or supervision
Working knowledge of Inventory Control Software;
SAP knowledge REQUIRED
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
