The Plant Manager's primary role is to lead the Plant team in efficient daily operation. This includes management of team members, maintaining proper staffing levels to achieve planned production and reporting on daily, weekly and monthly performance. The Plant Manager will also support maintaining a clean/organized facility, continuous improvement projects, and the other plant leaders daily. This position directly manages the Production Supervisors for two shifts, as well as the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor. This position will spend much of the time working hands-on in the factory with their team.

Essential Functions:
  • Planning and utilizing technicians to achieve efficiency targets and meet customer expectations.
  • Responsible for overall employee and plant safety procedures; emergency response, evacuations, required training, etc. (strongly supported by Maintenance & Engineering Manager)
  • Documentation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for production areas; maintain standardization with our out-of-state facility where possible.
  • Lead the way on Culture Improvements - utilize and implement Best Place to Work for All practices with support from People Operations.
  • Focus on our people and culture expectations.
  • Work closely with People Operations Coordinator to support team members and activities.
  • Leading and developing a team of production supervisors, team leads and hourly production Team Members within a multi-shift schedule.
  • Support ambitious production goals, communicate goals & performance to the team, and create a plan to continuously improve both goals and performance.
  • Work closely with Production Planning & Procurement to give feedback on actual results and make requests to adjust as necessary; and to help manage materials replenishment.
  • Implement strategic improvements for production, quality and labor utilization throughout the facility.
  • Investigate and implement innovative manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve product quality.
  • Ensure all Team Members follow industry standard health and safety guidelines established by city/county/state policy throughout the facility.
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience:
  • 5+ years' experience in a plant manager role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in plant organization and visual management - must have strong attention to detail.
  • Progressive responsibilities over 15+ years in a manufacturing environment to include supervision, materials, production planning, QA, continuous improvement, and program management.
  • Proven people management and leadership skills.
  • Experience in a small to medium-sized manufacturing company with rapid growth.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading process improvements through LEAN process, Kaizen and/or Six Sigma.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Experience working with data to figure out solutions and capture opportunities.
  • Knowledge of using ERP systems and basic production planning.

Required Education:
  • Bachelors degree in business administration, industrial engineering or related field.
