A well-established, full-service general contractor specializing in high-end custom residential, new commercial construction, private schools, and industrial/commercial projects across Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties is seeking an Assistant Superintendent
Our client is looking for an Assistant Superintendent to join their team, working closely with the in-field superintendent on all aspects of construction projects. This role has growth potential, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time superintendent position.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise subcontractors and ensure performance monitoring and issue resolution.
Maintain and update project schedules using Smartsheet or similar software.
Assist in adhering to construction budgets by monitoring expenses, identifying variances, and managing RFIs.
Contribute to achieving construction project goals by establishing standards and protocols, coordinating staff and subcontractors, and resolving design issues.
Foster a safe and secure work environment by enforcing standards, complying with regulations, and conducting weekly safety meetings.
Stay updated on emerging construction practices and standards.
Requirements:
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
OSHA and/or first aid and CPR training certifications are a plus but not required (training provided upon hiring).
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Procore, and Smartsheet.
Strong understanding of all construction phases, from grading to interior finishes.
Ability to perform quantity surveys from plans is a plus, as is an understanding of basic estimating formats and cost centers.
