Commercial real estate investment firm is seeking a Vice President of Finance to join the senior leadership team. Headquarters is in Atlanta, GA but this role can sit remote with occasional travel to HQ. Stellar team in place with a welcoming and family-like culture. We are looking for a strong and experienced leader who can build processes and procedures, create efficiencies, and provide long term strategy for continued growth. Will oversee corporate accounting, property accounting, finance, treasury, and tax along with managing a team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide executive oversight for all financial operations, including financial reporting, tax compliance, capital expenditures, debt management, budgeting, and general accounting.
Oversee the accuracy and integrity of all financial statements and general ledger reconciliations, identifying necessary adjustments and providing training and feedback to team members as needed.
Oversee the preparation of quarterly investor financial statements and other reporting packages.
Evaluate the current financial reporting systems, internal controls, and processes to improve financial efficiency, identify opportunities for cost savings, and ensure compliance with best practices.
Provide financial analysis and recommendations for future business operations, investment opportunities, and asset dispositions.
Coordinate with tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns, including 1099 reporting and investor tax capital account management.
Maintain oversight of complex 704(b) financial records, including targeted income allocations and investor-level reporting.
Background:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
Master's degree highly preferred
CPA required
12-20 years of progressive experience including the most recent 5+ years in a commercial real estate investment firm
Prior public accounting experience preferred
MUST have strong partnership tax knowledge, specifically 704(b)
