Summary:

The Plant Manager is responsible for executing strategies and delivering objectives in the areas of safety, customer satisfaction, team member motivation/morale, cost control, operations, and transportation in line with our purpose, corporate strategic direction, and values through the leadership of a cross functional staff including Production Supervisors, Maintenance Supervisor and/or Technicians, Logistics Supervisor (co-managed), HRBP (co-managed).

Core Functions:
• Develops safety awareness behavior and applies safety, ergonomic, and environmental policies. Understands the standards, guidelines, and regulations applicable to the site. Effectively communicates all incidents in accordance with the policy. Ensures proper analysis and treatment of incidents including "near misses."
• Instills a site culture that aligns with our purpose and values and with CSM's leadership expectations. Monitors, coaches, and mentors the team, continually improving culture and leadership at all levels within the division.
• Drives proactive urgency at the site towards short and midterm goals and strategy as demonstrated by having clear and measurable goals, which are agreed upon, communicated, and monitored constantly.
• Sets area goals and objective aligned with Site and Corporate goals and objectives. Communicates what the EO's can do to improve the results. Creates a Line of Sight to the goals/objectives with action plans to achieve them.
• Understands the market, customers, products, and services within the site's scope and translates the knowledge into strategy and plans that ensure profitable growth in line with company goals. Coaches the team and provides guidance on the execution of profitable growth strategies.
• Understands financial reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Responsible for the integrity and timeliness of monthly results. Able to build a business case including the preparation and validation of Capital Acquisition Requests. Responsible for preparing an annual budget and mid-term plan. Uses financial reports, KPIs, and other metrics to drive the business to meet net income from Operations and ROA targets. Plans annual capacity (people and equipment). Determines needed shifts, staffing, and performance improvements required to exceed customer expectations. Develops and executes the plan, including capital spending needed to support the necessary performance improvements.
• Understands and applies the "Right. On Time. Every Time." mindset with external and internal customer relationships. Able to solve problems and prevent recurrence through detection, communication, analysis, verification, and exchange of lessons learned/best practices. Coaches others on mindset, tools, and methodologies.
• Achieves operational excellence in 5S, respect for product, inventory management, asset utilization, labor efficiency, scrap, transportation efficiency, and machine/equipment uptime and repair cost. Able to recognize and systemically eliminate waste. Able to define and

apply processes and standards. Coaches all levels of the organization on waste recognition, continuous improvement, and process/standards. • Understands cost control and what financially impacts the site. This includes knowing the cost impact of overtime (OT), scrap, lost production time, etc.
• Ensures the site is staffed as required by mid-term plans, budgets, and operational forecasts. Works with HR to update job descriptions and identify necessary competencies for open positions. Supports targeted selection recruiting for appropriate positions.
• Executes a communication policy in agreement with the open book management policy.
• Responsible for the retention of all valued CSMI employees. Ensures the proper execution of objective deployment, appraisals, training plans, career discussions, and succession development planning. Responsible for identifying the developmental needs of employees and ensuring they have proper coaching, mentoring, and training.
• Objectives include but are not limited to zero accidents, customer satisfaction, gross profit per pound, turnover, Best in Industry quality, scrap, labor efficiency, delivery performance, transportation cost, key equipment utilization, net income from Operations, and ROA.
• Supports the Giving Back program through personal participation and enabling the participation of all site employees.
• Understands and monitors (with site management team) capacity, constraints, and sales forecasts to allow for growth while maintaining "Right. On Time. Every Time." and proper production planning.
• Understands, monitors, and implements company standards to ensure compliance and improvement as evidenced in internal standards audit.
• Leads, develops, and provides constant feedback to team aligned with Central States Leadership expectations and leadership training. Rewards and recognizes good and poor performance and acts. Coaches all team members to improve and understand basic improvement mindset, job duties, and safety.
• Identifies and mentors high potential team members to prepare them for the next steps, including one-on-one time to have them learn from experience of doing, exposure to situation, and education for skills. Promotes team building to have the team working to one goal and objective, building trust within the team, and reacting to any distractions to this teamwork quickly.
• Promotes positive constructive relationships between the site, the division/region, and corporate teams to ensure one team and confronting any non-productive behaviors to correct.

Education & Experience:
• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant management experience preferred in a manufacturing environment; minimum of 5 years' experience leading a team
• Exposure: Responsibility and management of P&L activities; experience in setting a strategic direction and executing the plan; exposure to customer interactions and management.
