Job Description:

Purpose

The Kid's Director plays a vital role in nurturing the spiritual growth and well-being of Life Song Church's youngest members. The Kid's Director's mission is to create a vibrant and engaging environment for children from infancy to 5th grade. Contributing to building a foundation of faith, love and joy that will positively impact the lives of our youngest members and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, plan, and implement a comprehensive children's ministry program for children from infancy to 5th grade, that aligns with the church's mission and values.
  • Create and oversee age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote spiritual growth, character development and a love for God.
  • Coordinate and lead children's programs on Sunday and any other special church events.
  • Build relationships with children and parents.
  • Recruit, train and lead a team of dedicated volunteers to effectively serve in various areas of the children's ministry.
  • Build a positive and collaborative team culture with ongoing support and encouragement.
  • Establish open communication channels with parents, keeping them informed of upcoming events and curriculum (social media, newsletter, emails, etc.).
  • Implement and maintain strict safety and security protocols to ensure the well-being of all children.
  • Manage the number of kids in attendance weekly.
  • Manage the annual kid's ministry budget in partnership with the Lead Pastor.
  • Share prayer concerns with the Lead Pastor, when appropriate.
  • Perform other duties that may be required or assigned.

Knowledge and Experience Required
  • A personal faith and commitment to the church's mission, vision and values
  • A passion for nurturing the faith of children.
  • Previous experience in children's ministry leadership or related field.
  • Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to recruit, train and motivate volunteers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, conflict management skills and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate curriculum development and educational practices.
  • CPR Certified preferred, or willingness to become certified
