Our client is a local Tulsa General Contractor who typically undertakes commercial projects $1M - $10M in size around the Tulsa area. Projects include K-12, municipal, community, athletic facility, restaurant/retail, and other mixed use projects.
ASSISTANT ESTIMATOR RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Estimating, with expertise in Commercial, Education, and Municipal Market Sectors. This role involves preparing accurate estimates, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
Review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing.
Develop detailed and conceptual estimates for various stages of design.
Determine labor and construction equipment costs.
Prepare and submit requisitions for the purchase of materials.
Compare competitive trade bids and secure all bid documents.
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
Assist project managers with estimates post-bid award.
Participate in bid compilation on bid day.
Review preliminary quotes and pre-bid estimates with the Project Manager.
Support the RFP and RFQ response processes.
Demonstrate strong presentation and sales skills during RFP/interview processes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree preferred
2+ years' experience in commercial construction estimation of ground up, vertical construction projects
Exceptional written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
Strong analytical skills and mathematical aptitude.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize accordingly.
Proficiency with Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Sage Timberline Estimating, MS Word, Excel, and Project preferred
