Provides leadership and accountability in the daily operations of a 10 OR Surgical Services Department as well as NICU and Labor and Delivery. Includes developing and maintaining physician relations, empowering clinical care givers through solicitation of input, and implementation of actions to improve delivery of patient care. Responsible for planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the provision of services in the department. Participates in and/or supervises the delivery of patient care, as necessary, and has the responsibility for establishing standards of nursing practice for the service. Assures achievement of department goals and takes an active role in achievement of hospital goals as they relate to the operations department. Assures adherence to hospital policies and standards set forth by accreditation and regulatory agencies. Available to support the clinical needs of the department by providing staffing support as volume and acuity demand. Span of control 250 head count and/or specialty alignment. Direct reports: 4 to 6 leaders with 4 to 8 cost centers reporting through span of control.
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing human kindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
4 years progressive clinical leadership experience required.
OR experience required, L&D and NICU experience preferred.
RN required
