About the Role - Our client is seeking a Senior or Lead Natural Gas Scheduler to manage the scheduling and nomination of natural gas transportation and storage across pipelines and LDC systems, ensuring efficient gas flow for clients. This position involves mentoring junior schedulers and applying technical skills to optimize gas transport costs and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Nominate, schedule, and adjust gas transportation on pipeline and LDC systems in alignment with contract terms, tariff requirements, and procedural timings.
Monitor daily gas flow and adjust nominations to minimize imbalances and optimize delivery.
Track weather patterns, pipeline allocations, and gas demand forecasts to anticipate and meet gas needs.
Coordinate with Gas Supply, Utility Sales, and Retail Sales teams to adjust gas flows in response to demand changes.
Manage volume commitments in gas supply and transportation contracts to maximize cost efficiency.
Regularly review and verify pipeline invoices, monitoring for any inconsistencies.
Analyze scheduling areas for potential efficiencies and work with gas supply and sales to implement cost-effective strategies.
Prepare detailed daily and monthly reports on gas volumes, transport imbalances, and storage levels.
Guide and train junior schedulers, fostering their professional growth.
Lead initiatives to improve scheduling processes and streamline workflows.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; relevant additional experience may be considered in place of a degree.
Required Skills
Minimum of 4 years of direct experience in natural gas scheduling is required. Specifically, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) scheduling or Piped Natural Gas (PNG) scheduling (not LNG or LPG).
Strong Excel skills; experience with Endur or similar scheduling software is preferred.
In-depth understanding of natural gas flow, including knowledge of gas production, pipeline transportation, and delivery.
Financial and economic analysis skills, including cost evaluation and financial modeling.
Ability to interpret policies and regulatory rules affecting gas supply and transportation.

Ability to interpret and share critical information from pipeline bulletin boards and communicate cost-saving opportunities.
High ethical standards and discretion with confidential information.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Pay range and compensation package - Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000, negotiable based on experience.
