BS/MS in Biochemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, Immunology, or a similar field.
2+ years of academic or biotech/pharma laboratory experience.
Experience with FPLC systems and with affinity, IEX and SEC protein purification methods is desirable.
Experience with protein refolding from inclusion bodies and/or protein modification is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Optimize protein refolding conditions from inclusion bodies.
Develop robust processes for protein purification from mammalian expression supernatant or from refolding, using Immobilized metal affinity, ion-exchange, and size exclusion chromatography.
Execute enzymatic and chemical protein modification protocols.
Generate purified and modified proteins at the 5-50 mg scale and maintain inventory.
Characterize recombinant proteins using SDS-PAGE, Western blot, protein quantitation, HPLC, ELISA, Octet and other biochemical/biophysical assays to determine protein purity and function.
