A growing real estate boutique based in Manhattan is seeking a Director of Administration. At its root, the role will keep everything functioning and running on time so the clients are satisfied and the attorneys can focus exclusively on their legal work.
A snapshot of major responsibilities include:
Vendor Management, Auditing, and Vetting (includes managing building operations, computer/technology subscriptions and licensing, insurance providers, practice management software, etc)
Policy Creation and Enforcement (develop written policies and processes for the firm with respect to holidays, time entry, confidentiality, training, etc)
Facilities Management (keep offices neat and clean, report and manage repairs and replacements, coordinate deliveries, manage retention of files, etc)
Supply Ordering and Expense Monitoring (order and replenish supplies, furnishings, fixtures)
Recruiting, Management of Administrative and non-Attorney Staff (create job descriptions, develop evaluations, oversee administrative functions, etc)
Onboarding and Orientation of Attorneys and Staff (develop orientation materials, onboard new staff members, update website bio/photos, etc)
Firm Communications and Public Engagement (arrange for press releases, prepare and disseminate announcements, manage firm's social media presence)
As you can see, the right fit is a person who is comfortable wearing many hats, can take initiative, problem solve, and get things done in a variety of areas. The role effectively constitutes being the "Captain" of the firm.
Someone who has served in a similar role at another law firm (Operations, Administration, etc) would be the ideal candidate, but candidates that have the right experience from corporate settings will be considered.
The role does require being physically present in the office however there will be some hybrid flexibility as well. Competitive compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience.
