Responsibilities
As an IT Support Specialist on our People Operations team, you will:
Configure, monitor, and maintain the organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), routers, switches, and firewalls.
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, analyze root causes, and implement appropriate solutions to ensure optimal network performance.
Implement network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs, to safeguard data and systems.
Provide timely and effective technical support with a high level of skill and customer service.to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
Set up and configure end-user devices, including computers, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
Assist users with software installations, updates, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth daily operations.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems and platforms.
Monitor system performance, track usage trends, and optimize system resources for efficiency.
Collaborate with the IT team and consultants to implement software patches, updates, and security measures to mitigate vulnerabilities.
Develop and maintain data backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical organizational data.
Perform routine backups, test data restoration procedures, and ensure data integrity and availability.
Create and update technical documentation, including network diagrams, system configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
Provide training to end-users on IT policies, best practices, and security awareness.
Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures, including antivirus software, encryption, and access controls.
Stay informed and maintain applicable training on the latest security threats and trends, and create awareness and provide support to our team and consultants.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address IT-related requirements and contribute to technology projects.
Communicate effectively and positively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, conveying technical information in an understandable manner.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA) are a plus and required in lieu of a BS or AS degree.
3+ years of experience in network administration and end-user support roles in an enterprise or corporate environment.
Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
Experience with end-user device setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
Keen understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve technical issues.
Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach to end-user support.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Ability to travel periodically for regional office support, engagement, and training.
