Position Overview: The Georgia Superior Court Clerks' Cooperative Authority (GSCCCA), a client of Millennium Information Tek, is seeking a Network Engineer. The Network Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise to ensure the performance, reliability, and security of the GSCCCA's statewide network. This includes all switching, routing, firewalling, VPN, External DNS, application load-balancing, and DNS failover in a multi-datacenter environment with 161 WAN nodes. The Network Engineer provides implementation, deployment, documentation, and maintenance of network technologies and infrastructure. This individual is accountable for issue resolution, mitigating system failures, and strengthening network safeguards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides subject matter expertise to ensure the reliability and integrity of the GSCCCA's statewide network infrastructure
Deploys and supports LANs, WANs, network appliances, load balancers, routers, switches, and other hardware
Assists with the planning, implementation, and management of network infrastructure projects
Configures and supports LAN/WAN, internet circuits and virtual private network (VPN) connections
Monitors the network for uptime, utilization, latency, and overall performance
Maximizes network performance by monitoring, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with other team members
Reviews reports to ensure the uptime, performance, resource availability, and security of the networks managed within operational guidelines, escalating concerns as needed
Troubleshoots and analyzes the network to quickly restore service in the event of network failures
Documents all changes to system settings and configurations according to the Network Department's established procedures
Creates and maintains technical documentation on all system designs and configurations
Creates, distributes, and maintains an acceptable use policy for the network
Serves as an escalation and resolution point for internal staff and customers
Participates in planned and on-call after-hours support for infrastructure changes and outages
Collaborates across departments to achieve successful project outcomes and meet organizational objectives
Works with internet service providers, vendors, and county IT departments as necessary to facilitate network changes and maintenance
Engages in continuing education to remain up to date on networking best practices and new industry standards
Supports wireless network infrastructures

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience
2-4 years' experience of designing, managing, and maintaining Cisco networks
Experience with Microsoft 365, specifically Visio and Excel
Advanced understanding of routers, firewalls, layer 3 switches, and network protocols
Intermediate level knowledge of application load balancing required; knowledge of F5 products specifically preferred
Must be familiar with application layer traffic and network devices that can affect the application layer
Proficient with routed IP networks, including detailed knowledge of access lists, source-based routing, and router protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, wireless bridge installation and configuration
Proficient in network security, policy generation, intrusion detection, and industry best practices
Must have highly developed LAN optimization skills, including VLAN setup, DMZ configurations, gigabit Ethernet cabling, switching, EtherChannel, and PVST+ Spanning Tree configuration and troubleshooting
Experience with PCI compliant security implementations on network infrastructure
Strong ability to document and design network infrastructure
Must be able effectively collaborate with internal staff and external stakeholders
Must be proactive and work with a sense of urgency
Must possess the skills to triage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
Valid driver's license and ability to travel as requested
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using SolarWinds, Palo Alto firewalls, Meraki switches and wireless access points, and Wireshark
Proficient with the F5 platform load balancers, iRules, and policies
Experience with monitoring and maintaining network devices utilizing SNMP, Netflow, and Syslog protocols
Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or a comparable level certification on a non-Cisco, industry leading platform; CCNP Enterprise, Data Center, or Security (or equivalent level certification on a different industry leading platform)
UNIX/Bash and Shell Scripting experience
