The IT Liaison will act as a bridge between the IT department and other departments to ensure the smooth implementation, support, and use of technology solutions within the organization. This role requires both a technical foundation and excellent communication skills to facilitate understanding and integration between teams, helping ensure that staff can effectively leverage technology to enhance client services and organizational operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technology Solutions Support • Assist with the implementation of software and hardware solutions that support legal services, case management, and client intake processes. • Support end users with training, troubleshooting, and best practices on legal and office technology tools. • Monitor IT helpdesk requests, resolving or escalating issues as needed.
2. Remote Work Environment Development • Assist in designing and implementing an efficient, secure, and user-friendly remote work infrastructure that enables seamless communication and collaboration across teams. • Recommend and support tools for virtual collaboration, document sharing, video conferencing, and secure remote access to necessary resources. • Provide ongoing training and support for remote work solutions to ensure a productive and effective remote workforce.
3. Department Liaison • Serve as the main point of contact for coordinating between the IT department and other departments to ensure technical needs are met. • Gather and communicate feedback on technology use and needs, including identifying gaps and suggesting improvements. • Translate user needs into technical requirements for the IT department.
4. Training and Documentation • Develop and conduct training sessions for staff on existing and new technology solutions, including but not limited to case management software, collaboration tools, and data security. • Create and maintain user-friendly documentation, guides, and FAQs for common IT processes and software applications.
5. Project Management • Collaborate on IT projects, ensuring timelines and milestones align with organizational goals and end-user needs. • Participate in cross-functional project teams to support the successful roll-out and adoption of new technologies.
6. Data and Security Compliance • Assist with implementing data security protocols, supporting training on data privacy best practices for staff. • Work with IT staff to ensure that all systems and data meet organizational security and compliance standards.
Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in an IT support, project coordination, or IT liaison role, preferably within a nonprofit or legal services environment. • Technical Skills: • Proficiency with standard office software and basic troubleshooting. • Familiarity with case management software, CRM systems, or similar applications. • Understanding of remote work solutions, cloud-based collaboration tools, and data security. • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for explaining technical concepts to non-technical users. • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively. • Project Management: Experience with coordinating projects across multiple teams.
Preferred Qualifications: • Knowledge of legal services workflows, including client intake, case management, and document management. • Experience with setting up and supporting remote work solutions. • Understanding of nonprofit IT budgeting and resource constraints.
