Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare early ROM budgets, estimates and detailed hard bids.
- Consult with engineers, architects, designers, consultants and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Review and assess the scope of work, identifying any discrepancies.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs and prepare cost breakdowns for various construction components.
- Solicit and perform a detailed review subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Evaluate and compare subcontractor proposals to ensure alignment with project requirements and budget constraints.
- Determine lead time, material availability and cost impacts that could affect the project.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather essential information for estimate preparation.
- Provide support during project handoff, ensuring a smooth transition from estimation to project execution.
- Review and analyze change order requests from subcontractors.
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar construction related degree is preferred
- 4+ years of experience as a Construction Estimator, with specific experience in Tilt-Up construction within the industrial sector.
- Experience analyzing construction drawings and other documentation to prepare project estimates.
- Thorough understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods specific to Tilt-Up construction.
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProCore, MS Project or similar tools).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
