The Production Shift Lead Operators are responsible for manufacturing products utilizing primary and secondary processing equipment or hand assembly. Following all procedures and work instructions, achieve optimal productivity, quality, and safety, assuring internal and external customer satisfaction. Preparation may include managing settings, carrying out tests, and regulating the manufacturing processes to ensure it runs flawlessly throughout production.
Shift Leads are expected to also have leadership and delegation skills, filling in for the Shift Supervisor in times of absence. This member should possess desire for personal growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Protect our customers to ensure each product meets established quality standards of zero-conformances.
Correctly record good production and scrap every hour on production paperwork and per work instructions.
Correctly evaluate part quality based on part quality inspection instructions.
Careful handling of parts based on work instructions.
Handle every part with care from inspection to packing and ensure the customers receive a quality product with no defects or handling/cosmetic defects.
Daily review all applicable quality alerts to keep you informed that a defect has escaped and reduce the risk of a repeat failure while a permanent corrective action is put in place.
Immediately notify the Supervisor of all discrepancies to establish quality checks.
Escalate production and quality issues/concerns to the Supervisor during production using the escalation process.
Keep the work area clean and organized in an effort to increase efficiencies and reduce the risk of the product being damaged.
Participate in team problem-solving activities.
Continuously focused on improving processes and participating in training and development programs.
Mentor, train, and lead other operators on procedure, skills, and ethics.
Understand conflict resolution tactics, in tandem with (or in place of) the Shift Supervisor.
Proactively participate in safety events.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Responsible for following all internal and OSHA-required safety procedures.
Adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e., Quality Manual, Associate Handbook, etc.)
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s) and/or management.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position
8-12-hour shift length
Must be available to work weekends as needed.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Must be flexible to work nights as needed.
Required Education and Experience
At least 3 years' prior experience in a manufacturing environment; plastic extrusion experience preferred.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to read and write in English or to communicate in American Sign Language
The ability to stand up and sit for 8 to 12 hours a day, plus additional overtime as needed.
Available to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
Flexible work availability and able to work overtime as needed on same-day notice.
The ability to bend, stoop, grip, reach, and lift to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
The ability to pass a drug test and background check.
Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facility.

Need to be able to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuously improving environment.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
The ability to work with components that are in constant motion along a production line without adverse effects.
