Sol Systems is seeking an experienced attorney to join our team. The Senior Counsel will provide legal support for all of Sol Systems' business units, with an emphasis on supporting the company's solar infrastructure development platform. Day-to-day activities will include supporting major development, M&A, and financing transactions; supporting everyday legal matters, like NDAs, vendor service agreements, and routine corporate compliance; advising business teams and company management regarding legal risks and strategy; managing disputes; and managing outside counsel.

Key Responsibilities:
Support or lead major transactions, including development, M&A, and financing matters.
Handle everyday legal matters, like NDAs, vendor agreements, and routine corporate compliance.
Advise business teams and company leadership regarding legal risks and strategy.
Manage outside counsel to control quality and cost of service.
A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
License to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction.
Excellent academic credentials.
At least two years' experience in a transactional practice at an Am Law 200 or comparable firm, government agency, or sophisticated in-house legal department.
Ability to work proactively and independently.
Experience collaborating with multiple business teams and management levels simultaneously.
Expertise in at least one relevant discipline (e.g., finance, M&A, real estate, construction and procurement, offtake) with a generalist's attitude toward other disciplines.
Commercial mindset and commonsense business judgment.
Enthusiasm for leveraging software tools, including AI, to find new efficiencies.
Preferred experience in the energy sector, particularly solar or other renewable technologies.
Location & Hours: This is a full-time role and will be based in our Washington, DC office.
