Our client, an A-rated Insurance Carrier, has been experiencing tremendous growth within their Underwriting Department and is seeking to add a Binding Contract Underwriter to their Georgia operations. This role involves underwriting and managing a portfolio of risks within the Excess & Surplus (E&S) lines of business, with a specific focus on binding authority agreements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in E&S insurance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and agents. This is a Hybrid position out of their Greater Atlanta office.
Evaluate, underwrite, and bind coverage for a variety of risks within the E&S market, following company guidelines and delegated authority agreements. Analyze the acceptability of risks and establish appropriate terms, conditions, and pricing.
Manage and maintain binding authority agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and underwriting guidelines. Issue quotes, binders, and policies efficiently and accurately.
Develop and nurture strong relationships with brokers and agents, providing exceptional service and support. Respond to inquiries, provide training on binding authority processes, and resolve underwriting issues.
Qualifications:
5 - 10+ years of experience in underwriting, with a focus on E&S lines and binding authority contracts
Strong analytical and decision-making skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and proficiency in underwriting software and tools.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field is preferred.
Excellent problem solving & decision-making skills.
Salary/Benefits:
$125,000 to $150,000+ annual base salary plus 10 - 30% Target Bonus
