POSITION PURPOSE
The Process Engineer is a hands-on manufacturing expert responsible for ensuring production efficiency is maintained and all parts produced meet customer quality expectations. This role will also be responsible for early detection and quick action to resolve any non-conformances found. This role will develop and implement manufacturing processes and train assembly team members to perform those processes as intended. This role will also maintain manufacturing equipment and perform process audits, as well as lead root cause analysis for issues found.
The successful candidate will be part of a small team managing a remote manufacturing facility, where a wide scope of work is expected. The role will include a combination of analytical and hands on assignments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Develop and maintain assembly processes for new products.
Develop Work Instructions for Assembly team members, train and sign-off team members to follow those instructions, and control updates as they become necessary.
Maintain ongoing processes to ensure adherence to the designs, processes, and quality control measures as they were approved through our formal qualification procedures.
Review engineering and manufacturing change documents for potential impacts on manufacturing processes, tooling, or acceptance criteria.
Assure that products meet customers' requirements with minimum variation and ease of inspection.
Generate and maintain Process Control Plans and FMEAs throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Generate and deploy trend charts, histograms, and other Green Belt tools monitoring health of processes within the Assembly department. Analyze metrics and indicators to determine opportunities for improvement.
Participate in regular inspection and calibration of tooling and gages and maintain calibration compliance metrics with internal and external sources.
Drive corrective and preventive actions to resolution, in partnership with internal and external parties.
Assess test equipment needs and develop plans for further internal test capabilities. This includes supplier management for design, build, delivery, and installation of test equipment.
Manage fault investigation and troubleshooting of assembly and test equipment, measuring devices and tools.
Lead/support certain budget and schedule activities as required by programs and management.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering
1-3 years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment, preferable final assembly.
Experience with product/process quality improvement, ISO9001/QMS and audits, data analysis tools/Minitab, failure investigation and corrective actions
Experience with design and maintenance of assembly fixtures.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings of complex nature
Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
