Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Service Manager to lead our HVAC and service teams. This role involves managing, coaching, and developing a team of technicians to ensure top-notch customer service, efficiency, and profitability. The ideal candidate will bring strong management skills, a commitment to team development, and a customer-first mindset.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervise & Lead Team: Manage and oversee a team of HVAC technicians, including those focused on repairs, sales, and maintenance.
Team Development: Coach, mentor, and evaluate technicians to improve performance, focusing on increasing average ticket sales, generating leads, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Field Coaching: Conduct ride-alongs with technicians to provide in-field feedback based on company standards.
Goal Setting: Communicate and monitor team and individual goals to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Budget Management: Achieve budgeted gross profit dollars and manage departmental budgets, inventory, and fleet effectively.
Scheduling & Dispatch: Manage workload, schedules, and dispatching to maximize productivity and profitability.
Problem-Solving: Provide technical and problem-solving support to technicians in the field.
Meetings & Communication: Facilitate weekly team meetings and conduct bi-weekly one-on-one sessions with each team member.
Customer Relations: Address and resolve customer concerns to ensure satisfaction and build long-term client relationships.
Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure all repairs meet high-quality standards and that operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Obtain necessary permits as required.
Administrative Support: Perform administrative tasks such as technician paperwork, evaluations, and expense reports.
Additional Responsibilities: Carry out other tasks as assigned by the General Manager or Owner.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of management experience, preferably in a service industry such as HVAC, plumbing, or electrical (but not required).
Skills & Abilities:
Proven excellence in team management, operations, and customer service.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to provide hands-on leadership and mentorship to technicians.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Knowledge of inventory management and logistics.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and maintain a positive, proactive attitude.
Availability: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional weekend work as needed and availability for emergency calls.
Additional Requirements: Valid driver's license with a clean record, ability to pass a drug test and background check, and a background in a related industry (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or similar) is preferred.
