Job Overview: The Developer position will be responsible for the management, development, and upkeep of many of Loomis' custom-developed, internal, business-facing, and customer-focused applications. This position will also rely on your current technical and architectural knowledge to develop and update applications with current techniques, technologies, and tools. Enterprise SDLC within a formal project process is critical in this role, as is your ability to document solutions and work within a development team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing software applications.
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications and databases using industry-standard technology and best practices.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in various programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.).
Create integration solutions to connect various software systems and databases.
Collaborate with customers to understand the business' evolving software requirements.
Provide application issue resolution and technical assistance.
Participate in project planning discussions to define software design requirements, architecture, and development.
Work closely with cross-functional teams such as other developers, software engineers, and stakeholders to meet project objectives and timelines.
Assess risks and impacts.
Providing timely functional releases to meet business requirements.
Ensure quality by creating and executing tests to identify defects in the software.
Managed workload and working within the enterprise.
Creating and maintaining proper project documentation of software design, coding, and testing.
Prepare user manuals and technical documentation as needed.
Ensure compliance with current coding standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
Primary Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree or 6-8 years of related technical experience is preferred.
Minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience in the enterprise and with C#, ASP.NET, MVC, and Visual Studio.
Must have .NET 1.1/2.0/4.5.x experience.
Must have significant SQL programming experience. Oracle experience is a plus.
Strong working knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, HTML, and CSS a plus.
Experience with SOAP and REST-based web services.
Expertise in source control such as Microsoft TFS, GitHub, etc.
