Overview: ADF International, a North American leader in the design, engineering, fabrication, and installation of complex steel structures and modular construction, is seeking a Lead Estimator for our steel fabrication plant in Great Falls, Montana. We are looking for candidates with steel estimation experience preferred, but construction industry experience will be considered.

Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation of scope letters and proposals, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Review project specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required estimate contents. Develop detailed labor and material cost estimates, including subcontract pricing (installation, engineering, detailing) and buyout pricing (deck, joist, grate, bolts, and other materials). Review material take-offs and evaluate overall project costs. Communicate with customers throughout the estimation process, addressing any inquiries or clarifications. Solicit and evaluate project-specific proposals from material suppliers to ensure completeness and competitiveness. Develop cost-effective options and recommend the best value solutions based on material cost, availability, engineering requirements, and quality. Prepare and submit pricing proposals, ensuring timely and accurate bid submissions. Perform all other actions to produce accurate and competitive proposals that meet project requirements.

Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience, preferably in structural steel or related fields. Proven ability to prepare detailed proposals with minimal supervision. Strong understanding of conceptual estimating, estimating techniques, and cost control measures. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently while managing multiple bids and deadlines. Preferred level of education is an Associate Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Construction Engineering, or another relevant field.
