Job Summary:
The Supervisor, Field Calibration is a working supervisor position. Plan, schedule, coordinate, track, and prioritize all facets of a calibration project. This includes but is not limited to preparing equipment, directing, supporting, and overseeing calibration execution. Coordinate multiple tasks and personnel simultaneously. Meet project objectives in a cost-effective yet quality driven manner. Perform routine calibration and preventative maintenance of Alcami and customer equipment in-house and at customer sites following documented procedures using precision standards. Create, modify, and execute calibration procedures. Issue, review, and approve calibration certificates. Report, troubleshoot, evaluate, and offer recommendations about quality issues relating to calibration. Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.

On-Site Expectations:
  • 100% on-site position, with a combination of customer locations as well as in-office.
  • This position is for day shift but may require some occasional off shift and/or weekend coverage to accommodate schedules and/or project timelines.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise direct reports.
  • Represent Alcami in a professional manner when interacting with customers.
  • Perform annual performance reviews.
  • Work with customers to address their calibration needs, questions, and concerns.
  • Lead and perform calibration projects.
  • Maintain records of pertinent information for the project including project costs reconciliation.
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate, and document the project and team members performance to improve processes.
  • Provide training to technicians on general calibration principles and specific calibration procedures, sharing best practices and industry knowledge.
  • Author and revise current Work Instructions, procedures and documents as needed.
  • Relay opinions or interpretations of calibration results to customers via calibration certificates.
  • Exemplify ISO 17025 and cGMP principles.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Military, Technical School, or Associate's degree.
  • 5+ years previous calibration experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Formal ongoing training and seminars to increase or maintain industry knowledge.
  • Knowledgeable in various calibration disciplines.
  • Experience with leading teams.
  • Capable of working independently as well as with a team.
  • Confident decision maker that utilizes skillset, facts, and team collaboration.
  • Metrology, electronic, electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Proficiency in GxP guidelines.
  • Strong skills with computers, especially with Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with HPLC troubleshooting and repair preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
Travel Expectations:
  • Offsite local travel is required weekly.
