Our client is seeking an Information Architect - Data Governance and Data Management in San Antonio, TX.
Role Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance and Data Management Information Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the insurance industry and proficiency with Alation and BigEye. This role involves developing and implementing data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, and managing data assets to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities: • Develop and Implement Data Governance Frameworks: Create and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance with industry regulations. • Develop and maintain data lineage documentation, implementing data quality checks , and enforcing data governance policies • Data Quality Management: Utilize Alation and BigEye to monitor and improve data quality across the organization. Identify and resolve data quality issues. • Data Architecture Design: Design and manage data models and ontologies for large-scale business applications. Ensure efficient data usage and compliance with governance standards. • Collaboration: Work closely with IT, legal, and business teams to align data governance initiatives with business goals. Facilitate cross-functional team meetings to discuss and resolve data governance issues. • Training and Education: Provide training and guidance on data governance principles and practices to team members and stakeholders. • Data Risk Management: Conduct data risk assessments and support data privacy initiatives to protect sensitive information. • Reporting and Metrics: Develop reports and metrics to track data governance performance and compliance.
Skills & Requirements
Must haves: • Strong experience in data governance, data quality, and data lineage. • Experience in sensitive data management and master/reference data management is desirable. • Proficiency in SQL and Python is required • Understands the end-to-end lifecycle of creation, modification, or retirement of Information Assets • Tools - Alation, BigEye, IA/IGC • Needs to have strong communication skills and must be presentable • Experience working with upper management/ c-suite • Need to have a lot of knowledge with Data Management and Data Experience • Experience within the Insurance Industry • Experience ( can be limited) with Alation, BigEye
