Job Description:
DETAILS:
This position resides in the Department's Bureau of Computing Services (BCS). Under the
supervision of the Deputy IT Director, it provides department-wide project management
services for developing primarily web-based systems in a highly complex, highly integrated
environment across multiple platforms. This position serves as the Project Management Office
team leader and Project Portfolio Manager. It involves human resource management
responsibilities such as hiring and performance management. Manages one or more cross-
functional projects of medium to high complexity, with responsibilities extending to multiple
large, complex projects impacting the enterprise.
REQUIRED SKILLS (10+ years):
? IT project management experience with leadership responsibility.
? Agile methodologies, tools, resource management practices, and change management.
? Project management certification or recognized project management curriculum completion
(required unless 10+ years of PM experience)
? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or
equivalent experience.
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
? Planning, organizing, and prioritizing application development.
? Leadership skills to inspire and motivate team performance.
INTERVIEW PROCESS:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Accountable for the IT Portfolio processes, including project portfolio governance,
project methodology framework, and Project Managers capacity management
? Ensure project management standards are being executed across the IT project
portfolio
? Drive improvements into the PMO program and ensure industry best practices are
leveraged
? Perform Project Manager supervision, including performance management and
career development
? Create and maintain Project Manager staffing plans. Ensures the team is adequately
trained and staffed to manage the projects.
? Work with Project Managers to resolve any issues or concerns raised in their
projects
? Responsible for overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of project-oriented
work efforts.
? Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies for
the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to
high-quality standards, and meet customer expectations.
? Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments; directing and
monitoring work efforts on a daily basis; identifying resource needs; performing
quality reviews; and escalating functional, quality, and timeline issues appropriately.
? Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or
resources to meet the needs of customers.
? Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope,
budget, risk, and resources of the work effort being managed.
? Assists program manager(s) in partnering with senior management of the business
community to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals
of the enterprise.
