We seek an experienced systems engineer who will join a DevOps/SRE cultured Systems Engineering team. Primary responsibilities include provisioning and supporting web and mobile applications for a large-scale enterprise environment. This position works closely with various business engineering and production teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and provide customer support. The role requires someone who is creative, proactive, constructive, and highly motivated.
You will work in an extremely collaborative and high-energy environment. In this role, you will: actively engage with development/QA teams, product/project managers, and product/business teams. You will lead project/planning efforts, architectural review or design, attending meetings w/ various teams. You will provision, tune, and automate systems and applications. You will provide systems administration and application maintenance and support.
Primary Job Duties:
Operational Support for compute, storage and data protection services.
Assist in creation, documentation and implementation of day-to-day operational procedures.
Provide system reports on both a regular and ad-hoc basis.
Remediate Identified Security Vulnerabilities.
Day to Day Support of Backups (Rubrik).
Creates new user accounts, recovers lost passwords and keeps data secure.
Implements server maintenance standard operating procedures.
Diagnoses and repairs server malfunctions.
Provides management with regular reports.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
A+ Certification or Equivalent.
Senior Level Experience and/or certifications in one or more: HP, Dell, EMC, Pure and/or Cisco storage and server solutions.
Carries and maintains a relevant and up to date skill set in the areas of both Linux and x86 hardware technology.
Windows, Linux, VMware, clustering technologies, resilient infrastructure design and deployment and automation.
Senior-level knowledge of storage/server virtualization platforms (NSX, VMWare, Hyper-V, etc.).
Individual must be highly resourceful and independent with the ability to quickly learn multiple disciplines and achieve manufacturer certification levels.
Experience with CMDB systems such as Service-Now.
Availability for Shipboard and Dry Dock travel at times.
