The role will focus on advancing advocacy efforts at the state and federal levels, working proactively to grow a patient-centered advocacy program, and coordinating state advocacy and grasstops initiatives.
Responsibilities of the Patient Advocacy Coordinator:
Identify and pursue opportunities to advance patient advocacy goals.
Develop and implement state and patient advocacy priorities.
Research, develop, and disseminate patient advocacy resources.
Support state advocacy initiatives and grasstops efforts.
Manage relationships with patient advocacy organizations.
Assist with policy-related initiatives and advocacy events.
Engage with stakeholders and patient communities.
Provide logistical support for committees and events.
Monitor legislative developments and engage in advocacy activities.
Collaborate with state medical societies and sub-specialty organizations.
Develop written materials on legislative issues.
Qualifications of the Patient Advocacy Coordinator:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
3+ years of experience in patient advocacy.
Strong project management, event planning, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in public policy research and analysis.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively.
