The Junior Consultant will be a valuable contributor to the Digital Forensics team who are in the Costa Mesa, CA and Washington, DC offices and Atlanta, GA. This position is hybrid - expected to be in the office 4 days a week working with the experienced team members to handle the intake, evidence and lab tasks for the Costa Mesa, CA office. This position also works closely with the other consulting departments to ensure accurate documentation and process flow for all incoming and outgoing data. This is an excellent opportunity for a person with foundational knowledge or experience to join a growing, dynamic team, and work on a variety of projects in a wide range of industries.
This person must be in the Orange County, CA area and will be expected to be in the office 4 days a week.
Salary Range: $85,000-100,000 base salary; discretionary bonus and competitive benefits including 75% contribution to employee healthcare premium.
Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of senior consultants, collect and image electronic data from a variety of electronic media, including desktops, laptops, cell phones, tablets, etc.
Use data mining tools to search, sort, and organize large amounts of electronic information
Manage the organization's data including staging, hygiene, disposition, and drive inventory
Create and maintain appropriate documentation to include events such as chain of custody
Maintain inventory and management of the evidence room; oversee the release, destruction, and subsequent paperwork
Monthly reconciliation of data retrieved from the lab, evidence room, and general inventory
Contribute to the development and maintenance of applications used for data management and storage
Create and provide reports relating to evidence handling as requested
Additional Responsibilities:
Attend bi-monthly, quarterly, and annual company meetings
Submit time in accordance with preset deadlines
May be asked to perform other duties not listed in this job description as required by business needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree preferred with coursework in Data Analytics, Digital Forensics, Computer Science, or experience commensurate with junior level
Understanding of one or more forensics tools such as Nuix, Magnet Axiom, EnCase, or FTK preferred
Understanding of forensic software, evidence preservation, collection, and documentation a plus
Ability to work more than 40 hours a week as business needs dictate
Willingness to travel and meet position needs outside of regular business hours

Possess impeccable problem solving, reasoning and analytical skills with a solid understanding of core project management principles, particularly in providing litigation support services
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, effectively managing many details

Positive attitude with a desire and willingness to solve problems
