We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Project Manager with a strong background in managing large-scale civil engineering projects, particularly those related to transportation infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and a proven track record of successfully managing projects that involve roads, highways, bridges, utilities, and other heavy civil works.
The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of the construction process, from pre-construction planning to project completion, ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for heavy civil projects, including FDOT roadway and infrastructure projects.
Coordinate and manage the project team, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and timely completion of tasks.
Ensure project scope aligns with contract specifications, client requirements, and FDOT regulations.
Conduct site visits and oversee the preparation of project schedules and progress reports.
Budget and Financial Management:
Oversee project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost control procedures are followed to maintain project profitability.
Review and approve invoices from subcontractors and vendors.
Manage procurement processes, including negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
Prepare and present cost reports and financial forecasts to upper management and clients.
FDOT Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure that all projects comply with FDOT specifications, guidelines, and safety standards, including the latest changes in regulations and codes.
Maintain accurate records of project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and submittals.
Manage the preparation and submission of daily reports, as-built drawings, and other project documentation required by FDOT.
Safety and Quality Control:
Ensure that all safety protocols are strictly adhered to, including conducting regular safety inspections and training sessions for the project team.
Monitor quality control on-site to ensure that work meets or exceeds industry standards and FDOT specifications.
Address and resolve any quality or safety issues that arise during the construction process.
Client and Stakeholder Relations:
Serve as the main point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and client satisfaction.
Provide regular updates to clients, FDOT representatives, and other stakeholders regarding project status, milestones, and any issues that arise.
Attend project meetings and collaborate with project owners, engineers, consultants, and FDOT representatives to resolve issues and keep the project on track.
Problem Solving and Issue Resolution:
Proactively identify potential issues or risks that could impact the schedule, budget, or quality of the project.
Develop solutions and implement corrective actions to address any challenges that arise, such as weather delays, regulatory compliance issues, or unforeseen site conditions.
Resolve disputes between subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.
Project Closeout:
Oversee the completion of all project closeout documentation, including final inspections, punch lists, and delivery of all required paperwork to FDOT and other stakeholders.
Ensure that all contractual obligations are met before final project acceptance and sign-off by FDOT and the client.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in heavy civil construction project management.
At least 3-5 years of direct experience managing FDOT projects or projects with similar government standards and regulations.
Proven experience managing transportation infrastructure projects such as roadways, bridges, highways, and utility systems.
