Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Manage the execution of one or more large-scale alternative delivery (design-build, progressive design-build, CM/GC and CMAR) projects including highways, bridges, airports and other civil works. This senior leadership role is accountable for ensuring successful project execution, managing client and partner relationships, driving profitability, and overseeing the safety, quality, and timely completion of projects. This role provides strategic project direction to project teams, manages stakeholder expectations, and ensures safe project execution in alignment with the contract and company's objectives and values.

FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

satisfactorily.
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for multiple large-scale projects simultaneously, ensuring project objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Lead project planning, execution, and closeout processes, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Primary point of contact for client, design teams, and project partners, ensuring strong communication and relationship management.
  • Manage or participate in pre-construction activities as needed, including design review, budgeting, cost estimation, risk analysis.
  • Manage and report on financial performance, managing the budget and cost controls.
  • Manages project cash flow, cost reporting, and ensures accurate forecasting throughout the project life cycle.
  • Develop and implement strategies for cost-saving opportunities, balancing client expectations with financial goals.
  • Identifies and mitigates risks through the project lifecycle, including financial, contractual, safety, and operation risks.
  • Provides technical insight to project pursuits and participates in bid interviews, as necessary.
  • Coordinates with construction management team to identify project risk and negotiate change orders with owner to ensure efficient and effective project production.
  • Oversees project and construction management to accurately update the project construction schedule and adjust for any change orders from the Owner.
  • Oversees construction management decisions regarding staff and equipment needs with branch management, ensuring cost containment with subcontractors and equipment billing.
  • Exemplifies Company values and contributes to the strategic plan.
  • Perform additional assignments per management's direction.
  • Supervisory: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplinary actions; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience
  • 15+ years' experience in construction project management with at least 10 years of alternative delivery projects required.
  • Experience managing projects that exceed $100 M preferred.
  • Experience working on Joint Venture (JV) construction projects preferred.
  • Proven extensive experience in bid-build, CM/GC, design- build, progressive design-build and other alternative delivery projects preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field a plus.
  • Experience in claim avoidance and management.
  • Experience in contract management and negotiations.
  • Experience with project insurance programs.

Certifications and/or Licensing Requirements
  • Professional Engineering License (PE/PENG) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to anticipate challenges, assess risks, and develop innovative solutions that drive project success.
  • Strong understanding of financial management in construction, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to efficiently and effectively manage the multiple project teams and direct reports to retain focus on project completion goals and timelines.
  • Proven ability to identify growth opportunities for project personnel and developed to coach and mentor project personnel.
  • Proven ability to delegate task driven responsibilities to project personnel.
