The Assistant Buyer, Men's supports and collaborates with the TOM FORD Fashion, Americas Merchandising Team in the day-to-day management of all Men's product categories. The Assistant Buyer, Men's works closing with the Director of Merchandising, Men's and the Retail Teams to execute the business strategy, supporting the buying process, allocating and distributing to the TOM FORD Fashion Americas stores, in accordance with company strategic business plans.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Driving Men's strategies and priorities through Tom Ford Americas Region and work directly with the supervisor to deliver commercial plan
Understand opportunities, risks and best practices for enhancing brand efficiency in the market, monitor market trends and inventory opportunities for proactive action
Constantly monitor sell-thru by door and consolidate product to maximize sales
Along with the Director supervision, direct responsibility of Leather Goods, Shoes and Underwear product categories in terms of sales performances, merchandise deliveries, benchmarking and new business opportunities, pricing and markdown proposals
Liaise with third party vendors to ensure timely delivery of merchandise
Maintain weekly shipping reports and communicate opportunities/risks to buyers
Assist in analyzing business reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Accurately reconcile receipts with strong attention to detail and communicate any issues that arise
Ensure price events are entered, set up properly & accurately logged
Ad hoc reporting as needed and support for the buying team in day-to-day functions and responsibilities
Partner with e-commerce merchandising and photo teams to ensure product accuracy
Attend weekly store calls to discuss needs & opportunities, gathering store feedback
Build and maintain buy books, product trainings and action plan documents
Preparation & Support before, during and after buying session 4 times a year
Assist during market with hindsight reporting, product selection and assortment (with additional direct responsibility on Shoes, Leather Goods and Underwear)
Purchase Order entry, changes and cancellations
QUALIFICATIONS
1-2 years of experience in merchandising, buying and/or planning roles
Strong analytical and quantitative skills and passion for the fashion industry
High level of proficiency in retail math, Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups), Power Point
Background in Men's (ready-to-wear or shoes and leather goods) is a plus
Previous e-commerce experience is a plus
Strong organizational and analytical skill set with fashion business acumen
Excellent organizational skills and problem solving
Ability to remain flexible and adjust priorities to handle time wisely in a fast-paced environment
Sense of urgency, strong attention to detail and ability to provide consistent follow-up
Strong presentation, listening, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build strong working relationships with cross functional teams
