Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: New Haven, CT

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic Quality Engineer to lead and drive our quality initiatives. This role will focus on enhancing delivery performance, reducing costs, and ensuring compliance with ISO and TS standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quality management, a strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), and a proven track record in implementing quality improvement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive Quality Initiatives:
• Lead the development and execution of quality improvement strategies to enhance performance and reduce costs in line with company objectives.
• Quality Plan Implementation:
• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality plan ensuring compliance with ISO, TS, and other relevant quality standards.
• Policy and Procedure Development:
• Create, implement, and conduct training on documentation management, quality measurement, and monitoring processes within the QMS.
• Team Leadership and Mentorship:
• Guide and mentor the Quality team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and sharing best practices.
• Inspection and Release Program Management:
• Oversee quality inspection and product release processes for incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products across all shifts.
• Quality Standards and Compliance:
• Formulate and manage goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO or TS standards.
• Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action:
• Investigate customer issues, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and document findings effectively.
• Supplier and Product Assessment:
• Evaluate specifications and quality compliance for both company products and supplier materials.
• Control and Documentation:
• Establish and maintain robust documentation procedures to uphold quality standards.
• Data Analysis and Quality Methods:
• Utilize data analysis, quality inspection criteria, and procedures to ensure the technical integrity of quality processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
• Certifications:
• ISO 9001 certification is preferred.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 8 years managing a certified Quality Management System.
• At least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Experience with Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
• Core Competencies:
• QMS Proficiency: Expertise in Quality Management Systems with hands-on ISO 9001 compliance experience.
• Leadership Abilities: Proven ability to lead teams, navigate challenges, and drive results.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including quality management software.
• Adaptability: Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, continuous improvement environment.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional customer focus with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
