Role & Responsibilities: • The individual will be the communication bridge between the import department, dispatch department, warehouse, airport pick up agent and airlines. • Dispatch airport recovery agent for all incoming shipments for MEC ORD. • Update and maintain Excel pick up list multiple times throughout the day so other departments have visibility for all pickups on that day. • Update system when cargo arrives at warehouse. • Pay airlines when needed through Paycargo or other necessary payment methods. • File pre-claims with airlines/freight handler for damages when needed. • Ensure all customer KPI's are met daily • Load planning/building loads, communicating heavily with team members for consolidation opportunities • Build & maintain relationships with Carriers • Negotiate & book trucks in the most cost-effective ways while following customer requirements and insuring on time delivery • Create BOL's/Delivery Orders in a timely manner, making sure Customs Clearances are in hand before releasing goods • Data Entry, enter milestones into Morrison system in a timely manner • Answer emails in a timely & professional manner • Track and trace orders and enter & upload POD information into the system once delivered • Approve invoices • Other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications: • HS Diploma • 1-3 years in a dispatch or truck brokerage environment negotiating rates and booking Dry Vans, Straight Trucks and Sprinter/Cargo Vans with carriers. • Good working knowledge of excel. • Experience with planning/scheduling preferred. • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced working environment with a Good Can-Do Attitude. • Good Time Management with attention to detail. • Looking for a detail-oriented individual with the ability to maintain a good positive attitude towards employees, customers, and carriers with the willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done. • Must be able to work Saturdays through Mondays. • Must be able to work extended hours when needed.
