Position Summary: Responsible for the Durability Program of new model and current production vehicles in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions:
Plan and coordinate 3rd Party Durability Testing by communicating details of the vehicle build plan and vehicle testing schedule.
Plan and coordinate Durability Testing by communicating details of vehicle build plan.
Perform Vehicle Audits for Functionality, Fit, Alignment, etc
Perform vehicle teardowns to find any issues with accelerated wear, assembly Issues, or any issues, at varying mileage intervals.
Report all durability related issues to responsible Quality Improvement Team(s).
Perform initial investigation on all Durability Related issues from either 3rd Party
Prepare and coordinate vehicle teardown events with responsible suppliers and groups.
Continuously follow up on durability related issues with responsible suppliers and groups.
Track countermeasure and improvement activities.
Create summary reports as necessary to monitor process and progress (weekly, final, and coordination of each stage meeting).
Keep and manage a tracking system to monitor all durability vehicle progress through the program (beginning to end).
Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
Meet all other requirements as assigned.
Education: ASE Mechanic certification - Master Mechanic a plus
BS degree desired, but not required
Related Experience: 0-10 years of job related experience preferred
Skills / Knowledge: Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Power point
