Venteon is currently seeking a Buyer to fill an opening with a Tier 1 Manufacturing Company in metro-Detroit. Candidates should have Purchasing experience, ideally experience sourcing for electronic components.
Requirements of the Strategic Buyer
Bachelors degree in Business or Engineering
3+ years of experience in the automotive electronics
Strong technical expertise pertaining to PCBs, electronics hardware, semiconductors or ECUs.
Able to function independently with minimal supervision & technical guidance.
Excellent negotiation skills.
Responsibilities of the Strategic Buyer
Negotiates contracts for prices and terms with outside suppliers for new and carryover components.
Develops and maintains commodity strategies in cooperation with other regions and in alignment with organizational needs and targets.
Follows market price trends and general business activities.
Manages supplier commercial issues.
Establishes Annual Material Budget and performs monthly budget analysis.
Works with suppliers and internal resources to identify, develop and implement material cost savings.
Develop new suppliers/disruptors to properly support the needs of each product line
Develop and execute plan for localization to increase regional content.
