What you'll do:
Build integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics and outside suppliers
Focus resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes and establishes key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis
Promote alignment by understanding and communicating customer needs and requirements throughout the maintenance repair shop
Determine car requirements and coordinate the efficient movement of production and engineering
Coordinate information and activities with other team members
May coordinate or exchange information with third parties, vendors, or customers
Lead technical and mechanical reviews with Operations, Safety, Welding, Quality to analyze and develop optimal process instructions
Develop and conduct reports, manage meetings, and support the railcar maintenance
Collaborate with Lean and Continuous Improvement teams at plants during Kaizen events or Value Stream mapping activities
Collect, compile, and present railcar maintenance progress and status report on a daily basis, or as requested
Required to provide support during peak fulfillment periods to meet corporate financial targets
Responsible for ensuring inventory & material controls are in place and executed per the plan
Other duties as assigned
What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree preferred with one year experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience
9 years of manufacturing experience without degree
Intermediate to advanced computer skills
Outstanding interpersonal skills
Ability to work with many levels within the organization
