Job Description:

Job Summary: Responsible for preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of the design and engineering on large and complex mechanical piping projects as required by client's documents and provides design, bill of material and cost worksheets.

Job Duties:
  • Reviews and evaluates requests for estimates and project quotes, as needed
  • Prepares and reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy.
  • Creates job folders
  • Inputs take-offs of construction documents
  • Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid
  • Obtains pricing for materials
  • Obtains bids from subcontractors
  • Lead the preparation of estimates and project quotes for certain assigned markets
  • Establish contact with key Mechanical accounts for quoting bids and potential orders on mechanical piping systems
  • Design structural/mechanical piping systems and subsequent details for pipe and duct supports for projects such as WWTP, WTF, power generation and/or process utility type facilities
  • Preparation of submittal packages
  • Assist in securing Contract Awards or Purchase Orders
  • Post contract award requirements include project sales order preparation, coordinate product requirements with purchasing, ongoing project management through completion, field visits, as requested
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM software and any other software required (TBD)
  • Home office/Jobsite sales calls with NEFCO sales representatives to promote engineering services and pipe hanger and strut support sales
  • Prepares cost analysis in NEFCO Enterprise Resource Planning, Eclipse, by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead cost incurred in the installation of strut grid projects
  • Makes an estimate where predetermined standards are not available
  • Informs immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database
  • Develops and maintains cost data, including labor and equipment rates, and production rates
  • Maintains estimating procedures and guidelines
  • Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors
  • Attends branch meetings

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate strong ability to work in fast pace, high pressure environment
  • Excellent computer skills and capability to adeptly operate Eclipse, Microsoft Office Suite and any other software required
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Maintains excellent regular attendance, punctuality at work to ensure a high-quality and timely response for customers
  • Must perform work accurately and with a sense of urgency and integrity while paying strict attention to detail
  • College degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of work experience

  • Identify and check written documents in mail and on computer
  • Must be able to see and interpret computer images
