The Role:
As the Director of Operations, you will work directly with the owner to manage and streamline day-to-day operations, allowing the owner to focus on the long-term vision and growth of the business. This is a highly impactful role where you will have the opportunity to make a significant difference in the company's success. You'll be responsible for overseeing operational efficiency, profitability, staffing, and organization, while ensuring that the company meets its goals and continues to scale.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Operations Management: Oversee daily operations, including production, scheduling, resource allocation, and problem-solving to ensure jobs are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Staffing & Talent Development: Work with the team and help build a strong, motivated workforce. Set staffing needs and support recruitment and training efforts to ensure the company has the right people in place.
Profitability & Growth: Manage operational costs, set performance benchmarks, and implement strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining high standards. Help the business expand its customer base and scale efficiently.
Collaboration with Sales & Leadership: Work closely with the VP of Sales and other department heads to ensure smooth communication and alignment between operations and sales, driving growth and achieving sales targets.
Problem-Solving & Process Improvement: Tackle production issues, identify bottlenecks, and bring structure and organization to an evolving company. Introduce processes and systems that improve efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction.
Strategic Leadership: Be a trusted advisor to the owner, helping with decision-making, organizational growth, and long-term strategy development.
Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a highly skilled operations leader who has experience in the roofing industry and a proven ability to manage complex operations in a fast-paced environment. You should have a strong background in team management, process improvement, and profitability optimization. The ideal candidate will:
Have 5+ years of experience in a senior operations or management role, ideally within the roofing or construction industry.
Be local to the area, with a solid understanding of the regional market and workforce.
Be skilled at scaling operations, managing growth, and improving efficiency without compromising on quality or customer satisfaction.
Have a collaborative mindset and be comfortable working alongside a leadership team to solve problems, drive performance, and meet organizational goals.
Demonstrate the ability to bring structure and organization to a growing business, managing complex workflows, setting benchmarks, and creating a positive, performance-driven culture.
Have experience in staffing and talent management, with a focus on developing and retaining top talent.
Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
