The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations for company. This role requires a highly detail-oriented and experienced financial professional to manage financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, with the ability to streamline processes and provide strategic financial guidance to support company growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Prepare and manage accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial projections. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis to identify areas of concern or improvement.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs.
Cost Control: Analyze costs and expenses, ensuring projects remain within budget. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, collections, and payments.
Payroll: Manage the company's payroll process, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Financial Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies. Prepare and submit tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Audit Management: Coordinate and lead internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and resolving any audit findings.
Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, including managing insurance and bonding requirements for construction projects.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective and efficient financial operations.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and the executive team to provide financial insights, support decision-making, and enhance overall business performance.
Systems & Process Improvement: Evaluate and enhance financial systems, tools, and processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of [5] years of experience in financial management or accounting, with a focus on the construction or contracting industry.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.

Strong knowledge of construction accounting, job costing, and percentage-of-completion accounting.
