Come grow with us by joining our team as a Regional Product Sales Specialist! In this role, you will play a critical role for the company and will work alongside other professionals within the team and other departments. Reporting to the Regional Vice President of Sales, the Regional Product Sales Specialist is responsible for becoming an expert on state requirements, specifications, and vehicle options for an assigned territory of states within the product segments. The key segments for this role are Multi-Function School Activity Buses and Daycare Buses (MFSAB), including all customers within each segment. This role will cultivate relationships with key state regulators, DOT inspection centers, and local/regional fleet buyers to position the dealership as the premier provider for meeting their unique vehicle requirements.

Additionally, this role is highly specialized. As an expert in the MFSAB sector, you will be the go-to representative covering a large territory spanning from Maine to Ohio and as far south as North Carolina. Significant travel is required.

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities required for this role:

  • Develop extensive knowledge of state inspection processes, vehicle specifications, and purchasing requirements for assigned market segments including day cares, preschools, and private schools.
  • Identify and target potential customers, including businesses and mid/large-sized fleet owners. Work with both corporate purchasing and local decision makers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with state regulators, local fleet managers and purchasers through in-person meetings, calls, trade show attendance and other modes of communication.
  • Partner closely with internal sales teams to consult on crafting unique proposals and marketing materials that speak directly to the segment fleet purchasing specifications and requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date tracking of state-by-state product specifications and requirements, purchasing timelines and budgets; provide analysis to sales and marketing teams to inform business development strategy for the overall region.
  • Conduct ride-and-drive / vehicle demonstrations for buyers showcasing how vehicles meet or exceed requirements.
  • Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs, preferences, and competitor activities.
  • Stay on top of the latest technologies, options, and regulatory issues impacting the commercial vehicle industry to provide insightful consultative guidance to buyers.
  • Capture feedback and intelligence from fleet buyers to inform new vehicle stocking plans and areas of opportunity.

Relationship Management:
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, dealers, and industry influencers.
  • Conduct regular meetings, product demonstrations, and training sessions with customers to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Identify and share leads among the retail sales team.

Sales Performance and Reporting:
  • Must possess a hunter sales mentality, relentlessly pursuing new opportunities within the defined territory/industry.
  • Meet and exceed assigned monthly sales targets and objectives, consistently achieving quarterly and annual revenue/unit sales goals.
  • Track sales activities, customer interactions, and progress using HubSpot CRM software and other designated tools.
  • Prepare accurate and timely sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to sales management.
  • Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and growth
  • 3+ years sales experience interacting with and selling to a range of size of customers, industry experience a plus
  • Specific experience with Multi-Function School Activity Buses (MFSAB), Daycare Buses, and other products within this segment category are a major plus.
  • Existing relationships with state regulators and local fleet buyers is a plus.
  • Ability to absorb complex information on vehicle specs, regulations and purchasing processes.
  • Excellent consultative sales skills and communication abilities. Must be able to communicate professionally to the C-Suite / Ownership level.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in using CRM software, MS Office suite, and other sales tools.
  • Proficient using MS Teams and Zoom for remote meetings, both internally and externally.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory conducting face to face sales calls.

Physical Requirements
  • Work will be performed in an office setting.
  • May be required to sit in long intervals and climb stairs
  • Must have good manual dexterity
