Job Description:

Designs, codes, tests and deploys software in all layers of the development life cycle. Provides the necessary documentation. Works with databases, APIs, servers, networks and various programming languages.



Essential Functions


  • Develop prototypes and solutions for the next generation of applications to support FedEx AirOps (Air Operations).

  • Apply modern principles, methodologies, tools, and processes to support the launch of new business capabilities.

  • Utilize systems thinking principles to allow team members to independently design, code, test, and deploy software.

  • Engage in software deployments to development, test, and production environments.

  • Use a solid programming background to troubleshoot application issues and provide issue corrections.

  • Encourage new ideas to build the next generation of Air Operations applications.

  • Drive strategic recommendations and process ownership of software development, including compliance, optimization, and training.

  • Foster sustainable practices by collaborating with global IT partners and support teams.

  • Ensure project success through effective stakeholder management and adaptability


Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in RCP, Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS.

  • Experience with Java/J2EE, JPA, JUnit, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security.

  • Familiarity with Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, Groovy, Nexus, GitHub, PCF, JMS, Tibco, and ActiveMQ.

  • Strong ability to leverage data and analytics for prioritization and strategic recommendations.

  • Proven record of effective collaboration with stakeholders and development teams.

  • Build strong relationships and align goals with stakeholder expectations.

  • Knowledge of SAFE Agile processes and methodologies.

  • Capacity to handle multiple applications/projects simultaneously.

  • Communication: Ability to clearly communicate with team members and stakeholders.

  • Organization and Planning: Strong skills in task prioritization and deadline management.

  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks.

  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot issues effectively while maintaining project timelines.

  • Adaptability: Remain flexible and resilient in dynamic project environments.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of modern software development practices and tools.

  • Familiarity with FedEx AirOps systems and Agile methodologies.

  • Working knowledge of Angular, Java/J2EE, GitHub


Minimum Education



Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in computer science, engineering, or information systems and/or equivalent.



Minimum Experience



Four (4) years qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.



Domicile Information



This is an onsite position requiring the employee to be onsite 5 days a week at the Memphis, TN location. The candidate must live within 50 miles of Memphis, TN.



Preferred Qualifications:



Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.



Pay: U.S. Pay Range: $8,452.14/month- $11,410.38/month
