Blue Cross of Idaho is looking for a Financial Accounting Analyst. This position is responsible for applying professional judgment in interpreting data for entry into the general ledger, preparing financial statements, tax and investment reports, and analyzing other complex financial information as requested. The ideal candidate approaches challenges with a proactive attitude, embraces learning opportunities, operates autonomously, and values collaboration with colleagues. Tax experience is preferred but not required.
This will be a hybrid role once training is complete. The selected individual will need to reside in the Treasure Valley area in order to be considered for the hybrid role. #LI-Hybrid
To be considered for this opportunity, you have:
Experience: 5 years of accounting experience, to include 3 years of public accounting experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field; or equivalent work experience (Two years' relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college)
Licenses/Certifications: CPA
To be successful in this role, you have:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present at an executive level

In this role, we will ask you to:
Support in the preparation of financial statements, insurance industry financial reports and various other schedules and reports
Research and interpret accounting guidance on complex accounting and investment issues
Perform a variety of accounting tasks including interpreting data for input into accounting software
Prepare monthly reconciliations and analyze variances
Assist in the preparation of schedules for internal and external audits
Perform other duties as requested
