Job Summary:

The Strategic Accounts Product (RFP) Specialist is responsible for completing request for proposal (RFP) and quotation market-basket requests in an efficient and accurate manner. The role requires interfacing with several key contacts within Airgas, key corporate customer contacts and partner suppliers.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Preparation of request for proposal or quote market-basket including material discovery process, costing, and analysis of key drivers based on commodity, vendor and SKU
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with representatives from our key partner suppliers and work with them to identify and obtain special pricing at the time of the bid and provide support as needed throughout the opportunity
  • Communicate with key stakeholders (internal and external), share information as needed, and provide timely progress reports on outstanding requests
  • Participate in conference calls/meetings as needed to discuss or strategize on the RFP/quote opportunity
  • Maintain team documentation such as SOP's
  • Special projects as assigned by SA Manager(s) in support of agreed upon needs
  • Promote adoption of best practices in price management that are in alignment with SA and organizational goals

  • Ability to interact with and take direction from all levels of the Strategic Account team including management, the sales field and other members of the SA Business Management Team
  • High level of initiative, curiosity and potential to go beyond the described role as the team responsibilities evolve

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years inside sales, customer service or relevant Airgas/industry experience preferred, with knowledge of industrial, medical and specialty gases, welding and safety products a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel® skills preferred (Vlookup, Pivots, etc.)
