Conn Kavanaugh seeks to grow and deepen its insurance coverage practice by the hiring and promotion of associates capable of independently handling diverse and complex coverage and insurance bad faith matters. Our coverage practice is one of nine practice groups in our 30-attorney litigation department.
Conn Kavanaugh has, since its founding in 1988, been a leader in the handling of coverage and insurance bad faith disputes. We have represented both insurers and insureds in high-stakes coverage claims and disputes across the country. These matters tend to be complex and fast-moving, oftentimes presenting a blend of coverage, liability, and bad faith issues. Our clients ask us to jump into the thorniest of matters, oftentimes stepping into courtrooms and mediation rooms in far-flung jurisdictions.
We seek candidates with the education, training, and experience to do sophisticated insurance work with light direction from partners. The work usually involves extensive review of background materials, research and analysis of local law, preparation of detailed and extensive analysis letters and recommendations, preparation of position letters (declinations, RORs, etc.), and preparation and prosecution of coverage and rescission actions.
The successful candidate will become integral to the coverage practice. We seek a candidate who, over time, will take a leadership role in training juniors and managing the practice. Thus, we seek more than a technician: we seek a candidate capable of developing into a leader in the firm and the coverage bar.
